There is a bit of a difference between soul mate relationships and the term soul agreements, otherwise known as a soul contract. Soul agreements has to do with work that a soul knows they must do before the incarnate on the planet. Perhaps a person wanted to learn about unconditional love during the current lifetime, in order to learn about this a soul with draw people to them that will teach them unconditional love. Unconditional love is a tough issue and may also require the individual to learn about another form of love, "tough love." Unconditional love is better than conditional love but still requires one to learn how to be tough in relationships. Ultimately, it is likely that soul agreements will involve persons of the same soul group, which is of course means that they agreed to help one another before incarnating on the planet.
